Spanish researchers propose a new strategy for HIV vaccine

Researchers at the Valencia University in conjunction with the Health Carlos III Institute of Madrid proposed an alternative on interaction between HIV and the immune system.
Where they can recognize the viral epitopes that are viral proteins in the infected cell surface and that these viruses mutate its genome to escape but in the case of HIV genome variability not to be expected
PLOS Biology researches, It is proposed that the fact that the virus infects cells that belong to the same immune system T helper lymphocytes. And that HIV infects most often the active cell to the sleepers, and that these are activated when they recognize an epitope therefore propose that HIV does not always can´t evade the immune system, so they have developed a mathematical model of interactions on the network between the different types of cells and viruses.
As there are two versions on the speaking of viruses infect immune cells and infecting other cells as in the case of HIV, and that this depends on the activation of lymphocytes appear to favor viral epitopes may be recognized by the immune system.
With regard to the vaccine, the authors propose that the present vaccine epitopes to the immune system of the pathogens to be recognized and react to infection wing but in turn this could be counterproductive, but instead of this vaccine would be aimed only viral epitopes recognized by another type of lymphocytes as are cytotoxic, which are responsible for destroying the virus.

The researchers therefore proposed an interesting method, as change the functionality and most of all is directed toward the target where the vaccination but the fact generate cytotoxic lymphocyte activation may also affect other cells that can same sites present antigenic similarities and destroy not only the virus, so you should keep trying other alternatives which should be targeted towards the antigenic variability that is more constant in the case of HIV that by activating the immune system itself.
